Simon started fishing a while ago… and it takes him a while to actually recall. When it finally comes to him he recalls thirty odd years ago... fishing all throughout South Australia and the Gulf of Carpenteria for prawns and tuna.
He then went on to work out of Coffs Harbour on board prawn trawlers and since moved to Lakes Entrance in 1990. He has owned and run the Veronica S for over seventeen years, with his son Stewart following closely in his fathers footsteps on board the Indian Spirit. Simon says sustainability is driving us as fisherman to increase our cot end sizes, and overall towards being more efficient in our fishing by trailing new and different gear.
