Nina 1
Ray grew up on a diary farm. Kid you not. He moved from Rockchester in Northern Victoria to Lakes Entrance when he was ten, and was on the boats by age twenty. He has now been a skipper for over seventeen years and at the helm of the Nina 1 for the last four and half. He says all fishermen are 99% greenies at heart. “If we’re not there is no industry. Fishing is very much the backbone of this town – especially as a tourist town during the winter periods, and as such we need to have an open mind. We are always looking for new ideas and ways to keep the industry feasible.”
