Although Stewart has been running the Kendean for over 17 years, he has grown up fishing with his father and grandfather before him. Currently a Danish Seiner, Stewart has also has also tried his hand at Board Trawling, Scalloping and Shark Fishing. His grandfather Norman Clarke not only started the family business, but also had a hand in introducing the Lakes Entrance Fisherman’s Co Op. He says “My grandfather Norman started the boat well before I was born, then my father took over and then myself in 2001. I’m proud to say the Kendean is still family owned and run.”
